Messages and Reminders:

- Science presentations start tomorrow

- Report Cards will be available to view online in PowerSchool on Friday. You can see the marks and grades anytime, but the official report card will be released on Friday. 
- remember to track your reading for the Reading.. Give it a Shot Program. For every 60 minutes of reading (with parent initials), you can earn 1 hockey card. Reading logs can be brought in any day but need to be in backpacks on the last day of the week so we can add in our class reading and count our class total. 

- Jump Rope for Heart fundraising is online this year - students brought home the information page on Thursday. See note below for more information.

- For more information about the late French immersion program at GP Vanier, you can visit their website at this link. Their virtual open house for families is Tuesday, February 9 at 6:00pm.

Jump Rope For Heart 

On Monday we will begin jump rope for heart which will run for the entire month of February. Students will be doing skipping and hula hooping in phys ed when they are with their classroom teacher to promote this. (They will be doing lacrosse when with Mr. Sadowsky) If they choose to fundraise this year, all donations will be made online. Due to COVID we can't accept cash or cheques. A parent letter will be coming home today or Monday which explains how they register online so they can collect donations through their account. We will collect donations from Feb 1st to Feb 28th. All prizes for collecting donations this year will be gift cards due to COVID and a list of prizes can be found on the website when they register. Anyone who raises a minimum of $20.00 will also be added to a draw for a bonus prize through our school. We have about 13 prizes to give away which include soccer balls, basketballs, skipping ropes and 1 mini hockey set which includes a mini net, 2 mini sticks and a mini ball.

Grade 6 Farewell and Thank You Miss G's Speech! Well room 17, it’s been a wild ride to say the least. I know we’ve only been together since January, but we did it. To the grade sixes, who always kept me on my toes, this day is for you. I cannot believe how far you have all come in the last six months, yet it’s time for you to move on to junior high.  I truly appreciate each and every one of you and am amazed at how much I have learned from you all. Thursday, May 27th, 2021 Messages and Reminders: - Tomorrow is twin day and our virtual Pillar of Care assembly. - Spring picture day is on Monday. Spring Picture Day is coming Monday, May 31. Lifetouch donates $2 to the school for every photo taken on this day. After Picture Day, you may choose to order pictures on mylifetouch.ca using your Portrait ID and Access Code which can be found on your Picture Day order form (this will come home about a week after picture day). - Please sign the Human Sexuality waiver and send back to school before Monday. We will be starting the unit then. - Tomorrow is our last day to work on our news articles. If they are not completed students will need to complete them at home over the weekend. Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 Messages and Reminders: - Please hand in the human sexuality forms by Friday - we will be starting the unit on Monday. New forms will be sent home tomorrow for students that need them. If you already returned/emailed me with permission you do not need to do it again. - Ancient Athens test on Thursday for those students who missed it before we went online.
