Friday, May 28th, 2021 Messages and Reminders: - We will be starting our Human Sexuality unit on Monday. If you have not signed the waiver please send it with your child on Monday. If you do not have a waiver please email me with your confirmation. - Spring picture day is Monday, May 31. - Students are to be working on their news articles at home this weekend if they did not finish them in class this week. Pillars of Care - May Winners Care for Others: Hannah has shown care for others by interacting with different classmates and working on positive peer relationships. She has done this by being kind and asking others to play at recess.  Care for Learning: Adan showed care for learning by working on his stamina to complete tasks and putting in more effort into all subjects. He especially showed his care for learning by showing up to online school and asking meaningful questions to clarify assignments. Care for Place: Mercedez shows care for place by always making sure she takes care of the outdoor classroom equipment and returning it where it belongs without being asked. Thursday, May 27th, 2021 Messages and Reminders: - Tomorrow is twin day and our virtual Pillar of Care assembly. - Spring picture day is on Monday. Spring Picture Day is coming Monday, May 31. Lifetouch donates $2 to the school for every photo taken on this day. After Picture Day, you may choose to order pictures on mylifetouch.ca using your Portrait ID and Access Code which can be found on your Picture Day order form (this will come home about a week after picture day). - Please sign the Human Sexuality waiver and send back to school before Monday. We will be starting the unit then. - Tomorrow is our last day to work on our news articles. If they are not completed students will need to complete them at home over the weekend. Monday, May 17, 2021 Good morning Room 17.  Here is the schedule for today. Please note that it is a short week this week - we only have school Monday - Thursday this week. You have PE with Mr. S today and Music with Mr. Wiens.  Please note Mrs. Ruiz will be helping those same students from last week from 12:00-1 and there is reading with Ms. Cox from 1-1:30.  Group E you will be coming to the Reading Google Meet at 10:30 today because we do not have school Friday. Ever Active Schools is hosting a cover photo contest! This is your chance to have your photo or artwork featured on the front cover of the Fall 2021 edition of Healthy Schools Alberta magazine. Submit your image along with 5-7 sentences about what it means to you! The winner will receive a $500.00 prize as well as their artwork featured on the magazine cover.  Theme: What I love about Alberta Deadline: June 15  Rules:  1. Maximum 2 entries per person.  2. Wednesday, May 5, 2021 Messages and Reminders - We will be moving to online learning as of Friday, May 7 with the government's plan to return to in person classes on Tuesday, May 25. Work will be posted online along with a Google Meet schedule as soon as we have it.  - Ancient Athens quiz has been moved to tomorrow. Study guide can be found in the google classroom if needed. - Athens brochures to be done by end of day tomorrow if possible due to online learning. - The SJAM virtual orientation for families is tomorrow evening at 5:00. An email was sent earlier this week to all grade six families with information about how to access the link and how to sign up for options.
