Messages & Reminders

- Report cards will be digital this year and will be able to be viewed online early next week from Feb. 1 - Feb. 5th

- Wednesday students will be viewing a virtual presentation about the late French immersion program at G.P. Vanier School. Our designated school is Sir John A. Macdonald School, so more information will be available after the presentation for anyone wishing to transfer to the French program at Vanier. There will also be information posted for anyone considering transferring to the Art Centered Learning (ACL) program at Sir John Franklin School. 

- Remember to track your reading for the Reading.. Give it a Shot program. For every 60 minutes of reading (with parent initials), you can earn 1 hockey card. Reading logs can be brought in any day but need to be in backpacks on the last day of the week so we can add in our class reading and count our class total. 

- No school Friday, January 29.

- Math Quiz tomorrow on ratios. 

- Pillars of Care winners were announced and will be bringing home a note to let you know what they've won.


We are halfway through the week as this week is a short week! We have continued to work on ratios and rates in math, we've done more research for our science projects, learned more about our Canadian history and how we can learn from our past experiences and learned more about the elements of story writing.

Grade 6 Farewell and Thank You Miss G's Speech! Well room 17, it’s been a wild ride to say the least. I know we’ve only been together since January, but we did it. To the grade sixes, who always kept me on my toes, this day is for you. I cannot believe how far you have all come in the last six months, yet it’s time for you to move on to junior high.  I truly appreciate each and every one of you and am amazed at how much I have learned from you all. Between keeping me up to date with video games, the latest meme, or the newest youtube sensation, I am not sure what I will do without you next year. In all seriousness, you have all taught me so much and I am grateful for the time I did have with you here at BHS. I am the most proud of you! Thursday, May 27th, 2021 Messages and Reminders: - Tomorrow is twin day and our virtual Pillar of Care assembly. - Spring picture day is on Monday. Spring Picture Day is coming Monday, May 31. Lifetouch donates $2 to the school for every photo taken on this day. After Picture Day, you may choose to order pictures on mylifetouch.ca using your Portrait ID and Access Code which can be found on your Picture Day order form (this will come home about a week after picture day). - Please sign the Human Sexuality waiver and send back to school before Monday. We will be starting the unit then. - Tomorrow is our last day to work on our news articles. If they are not completed students will need to complete them at home over the weekend. Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 Messages and Reminders: - Please hand in the human sexuality forms by Friday - we will be starting the unit on Monday. New forms will be sent home tomorrow for students that need them. If you already returned/emailed me with permission you do not need to do it again. - Ancient Athens test on Thursday for those students who missed it before we went online. The re-test for students wishing to take it again will also be on Thursday. - Ancient Athens brochures are due by Friday for those who missed before the break. - News Article good copy due by Friday. - Pillars of Care virtual assembly is Friday morning.
